Rod Stewart Chicago Concert reviews
Great Concert
Overall the concert was great. Rod Stewart was excellent on stage, as always. We tried something different this time, instead of spending several hundred dollars for tickets we sat in the upper balcony off to one side. While the seats were good for most of the performance, there were a couple of issues. For a couple of his songs the stage was lit by a single spotlight from high in the back of the audience. Due to a reflective finish around the drummers it created a very bright reflection toward where we were seated that made it impossible to see Rod and the performers near him. It was as if a spotlight was shined directly at us. The other issue had to due with the jumbo screens behind the performers. There was a main set of larger screens on the bottom with a set of smaller screens across and in front of them at the top of the stage. From the higher up balcony seats the top row of screens cut off almost half of the lower set of screens so that you could only see the performers from the waist down on the larger jumbo screen. I would not recommend any seats in the upper level balconies (level three or four) if you have a desire to actually see what is going on at this venue using the jumbo screens (the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas).
